I just wanted to take the opportunity to post some work by Eliot Erwitt. He is a photographer that has been a driving force behind my work this quarter. I really do love the humor in his work and the moments he captures. I don't want to mimic his photographs, but I really enjoy his methods and the outcome. Erwitt has inspired me to take the time to find the right shot and I hope that you all will explore his work further! :)Friday, February 19, 2010

I was gonna say! Your work and ideas remind me of Elliot Erwit. I'm not sure if you are familiar with Mary Ellen Mark or Diane Arbus but they work mostly in portraiture and they capture people's personalities so well! Check them out if you already havent.
ReplyDeleteThey're fantastic! Thanks so much, I'm totally gonna use them at my next thesis review!
ReplyDeleteI would also recommend checking out the work of Henri Cartier-Bresson. He is a photographer from the 1930s and his images are amazing. He shot in black and white (given the time period), and a lot of his images are of people and i think you could definitely get some inspiration from his work!
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
